According to On the Beach, Hurghada is the UK’s fastest growing holiday destination for Winter sun due to the Cities high temperatures from October to February

Once a small fishing village, Hurghada has grown in tourism due to huge interest & investment from foreign investors. Sharm el Sheikh was always the number one hot-spot for tourism on the Red Sea coast now Hurghada is showing more positive results.

On the Beach reported Tenerife still ranks number one choice for British holiday makers wanting quick getaways for Winter sun.

Lanzarote was the second most popular destination followed close by Costa Blanca, Gran Canaria & Fuerteventura giving Spain the top five spots. Outside the top five, Portugals Algarve in sixth place while popular in the past Turkey managed eighth place.

Alistair Daly, chief marketing officer said: “Spain has always been a popular destination among British holidaymakers but it really is dominating this winter sun season” said the chief marketing officer, Mr Alistar Daly

He then went on to say “Our bookings also show that Hurghada and Agadir are growing in popularity and we expect this trend continue into next year.”
